British Party conference season breaks Twitter records with one million tweets

Now on Twitter @david_cameron and his Sam Cam momentParty political conference season has dominated UK Twitter over the last few weeks.

Followers have keenly Tweeted key quotes and messages while following the conference debates on television, while delegates shared comments and pictures from the fringe events and speeches that they attended.

Presidential debate breaks record as most Tweeted about political event

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney clash in first Presidential #Debate in Denver, ColoradoTwitter launched Twitter.com/#debates as the first US Presidential debate kicked off last night and quickly became the most Tweeted political event on record as more than 10.3 million Tweets were sent in the 90 minutes.

The media declared Mitt Romney as the winner over President Obama in Denver although some had it down as Big Bird from Sesame Street.

Facebook and CNN team up to follow the Election 2012 conversation

With the conventions well underway, and the respective party’s tickets officially confirmed, media brands are building up their social insights, and trying to follow the online conversation about the US election.

CNN and Facebook are collaborating for a new project called Facebook Insights. The project will monitor the real-time data on the conversations about President Obama, Vice President Biden, Respublican candidate Mitt Romney, and his Vice Presidential candidate Rep. With the GOP candidate firmly in place, the US Presidential election is beginning to hot up, especially in the digital and social media space.
