Royal Family embraces Flickr in latest online move

Not content with a recently re-vamped website, a Twitter account and a YouTube channel, the Royal Family have now created their own Flickr account, complete with at least 600 official photos.

The Family first sprang up on YouTube three years ago, went quiet on the social media front for a bit and then dived head-first into Twitter last year, where followers can be entertained with news and information around Royal exhibitions and ceremonies (and if you were wondering, in a move that’s very diplomatic if not a bit boring – the Royal Family isn’t following anyone). Chegwin’s tweets fall short of funny

Professional ‘funny man’ Keith Chegwin is facing the wrath of fellow comedians for tweeting one-liners that don’t appear to be all that original.

Simon Evans (you might have to Google him like I did) was the first to take umbrage after Chegwin, who has nearly 39,000 followers, tweeted: ‘My auntie Marge has been ill for so long we changed her name to “I can’t believe she’s not better.” This particular joke is said to belong to one Milton Jones (I had to Google him too). Google to phase out YouTube accounts

Search engine giant Google has announced that soon all YouTube users will need a Google account in order to upload videos to the site. While newcomers to YouTube are already required to do so, Google intends to phase-out the earlier system.

Google bosses have stressed that the move does not mean that users need to switch over to Gmail, Google’s  email service, and it won’t impact on YouTube usernames.

The 2010 World Cup. Brings to mind the gathered hopes of the nation, the inevitable near-misses, the good performances and the bad, and a whole lot of shoulda, woulda, coulda.
