#GER vs #ARG breaks new tweets per minute record
Last night’s World Cup final broke another Twitter record with a massive 618,725 tweets per minute (TPM) about the match at the final whistle, making the final the highest TPM peak Twitter has ever seen during an event.
This smashed the previous record from last week when Brazil’s 7-1 defeat to Germany in the semi-finals generated 580,166 TPM.
Last night’s final failed to smash the record for total Tweets sent during a single sporting event. It generated a total of 32.1 million Tweets, fewer than last week’s 35.6m Tweets generated by the Brazil vs Germany match.
