David Cameron to join Twitter in time for Party conference

David Cameron: set to join the world of TwitterThe Prime Minister, David Cameron, is finally set to follow other world leaders, most notably Barack Obama, and join Twitter.

The Telegraph reports that Cameron will join Twitter in time for the Conservative Party Conference, which takes place in Birmingham, in the second week of October.

Twitter CEO reveals plans for interactive tweets and content curration

Tweets are set to get a whole lot more useful as CEO Dick Costolo reveals plans for new tools that will allow users to pull out selected tweets and publish them adding to the existing ability to embed single tweets.

The new feature is likely to prove useful when it comes to journalists and others covering real-time events and takes Twitter further down the road of curation.

Other features on the way include tweet boxes. These will allow the inclusion of features such as live polls that will show real-time results directly within a tweet box. Read More »

Kellogg’s opens first Tweet Shop for Cracker launch

Kellogg opens a Tweet Shop in Soho for its Special K Cracker Crisp launchNice idea here. Kellogg has opened what it is calling the “World’s first Tweet Shop”.

It is open today to launch its new range of Special K Cracker Crisps and is located on 13 Meard Street London.

Chevron launch video competition with $100k prize fund in fight against Aids

Chevron CSR campaign - Aids-is-going-lose Chevron have launched a crowdsourced CSR campaign to highlight the continuing fight against AIDs.

The issue is one that the company take personally, given they are based in both San Francisco and other cities around the world in which the disease still holds strong.

The contest is titled “AIDS is Going to Lose,” and it asks filmmakers to tell why or how they think AIDS is going to lose. “We are not looking for commercials,” explains the brief, “we are looking for contagious optimism.”  Read More »
