The creators of the puzzle video game Angry Birds, which has been downloaded more than a billion times, have released an official trailer of their next game called ‘Amazing Alex’.

Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile is not releasing Amazing Alex until July 12, but is giving fans a sneak preview.

The game is a rebranding of  Casey’s Contraptions, which Rovio Mobile acquired the rights to from developers Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut.

The physics-based puzzle and is described as an ”approachable, fun and highly addictive take on the physics puzzler genre”.

Rovio has been reworking the title to enhance it and getting ready to re-introduce it in a “true expect the unexpected’ Rovio style launch to an even larger audience”.

It features an animated blond boy who players play to launch baseballs at complex contraptions, causing chain reactions and features 100 levels. It is said to share similar physics gaming elements as Angry Birds.
