I'd be interested to know if brilliant social media exponents @betfairpoker and @arenaflowers were considered for this list.

If they were then Headsteams's methodolgy is all wrong.

@gordonmacmillan - strictly speaking for myself Gordon, I head up @BTCare and Headstream informed us that we were indeed nominated by our customers (we saw the tweets!) but sadly, we haven't made it into the Top 100. Still struggling to understand why but equally, we're focussed more than ever on our social programme to become a social business - from the inside out [change from within - is a long term investment in becoming a social brand]

@Christopher - thank you v much for your positive words on what we've done.

Thanks

The list was crowdsourced -- interesting no one nominated BTcare. There are other brands not there as well that some have suggested should be there.

Looking at the impressive long list, I am surprised to not see BTCare in there. They have taken the decision to utilise social media as a customer service tool rather than a marketing tool. As a consequence improving the overall service -> brand experience for customers. It probably doesn't fulfill the current defined criteria for 'successful social brands'. But it is a clear demonstration of how a business has utilised the media to deliver against a business challenge rather than adding the media as a new customer touch point for marketing
