Joining up the dotcoms: Social media demographics [infographic]
Newcomer Google+ is forging its way in the US with the under-25s, who make up 50% of its users, but the network has a long way to go until it rivals Facebook’s 835 million active users.
The latest infographic to quantify the US’s online social habits places the Google platform at number three in the US, racking up 90 million unique visitors and fast approaching Twitter, which is ranked second with 127 million active users.
Google+ is less than a year old and is still officially unavailable to under-18s so until it sorts out its safety features opens up to teens, watch this space.
Pinterest is picking up fans and people now spend more time on the network, on average, than on LinkedIn, although its 21 unique users are dwarfed by the professional network’s 150 million.
And finally Reddit and Digg are still clinging on with 5.5 and 4.6 million unique users respectfully (click to enlarge).
