Google ad revenues bigger than entire US newspaper industry [print is dead]

Barack Obama releases YouTube documentary to tell his story online

Barack Obama’s campaign team has long been praised for it’s innovative use of technology as a story telling an organising tool and developing a wide ranging social media arsenal, but with a new video it has upped the ante once again.

Obama 2012 has just released a YouTube video called “The Road We’ve Travelled” in which members of the administration past and present, including Mayor Rahm Emanual, David Axelrod, and Vice President Joseph Biden, tell the story of their first term, and the tough decisions that had to be made, and what has been achieved. Yammer boss offers $25k signing bonus to Yahoo staff

A Twitter battle has broken out between Yammer, the enterprise social networking firm, and Yahoo. Yammer CEO, David Sacks, is offering Yahoo staff a $25,ooo signing bonus to join his company.

Sacks launched his campaign to hire staff from the embattled firm after lashing out at Yahoo over its decision to pursue technology patents against Facebook. He has called the company at “patent troll”. Read More »

Google gets serious about social as it hires Digg founder

Google has won a bidding war to acquire and hire the latest project by Digg founder, Kevin Rose, who will join the search giant.

Google is getting Rose along with his team at mobile app firm Milk, which is to close its only product Oink. It is understood that Facebook had also been in discussions with Rose, but Google won out. Read More »
