The complete history of marketing from moveable type to social media [infographic]
Great, and exhaustive, infographic here from Hubspot on the complete history of marketing. From the days when any kind of technology was limited to the hands of a few before it slowly became available to the masses and eventually gave voice to consumers.
From 1450, and moveable type (that’s not a blogging platform by the way); to the 1700s and the first magazines; the 50s and the first TV ads up; to the arrival of the PC in 1981 and the internet in the early 90s and the first online ads (A Phoenix law firm in a news group).
It shows how technology has changed the way that marketers do their jobs and how consumers have responded.
