Reply-all fail: PR calls prominent mommy-blogger a “f***ing bitch” with predictable results

PR agency Brandlink Communications found itself in a PR disaster over the weekend when one of its vice presidents called influential blogger Jenny Lawson (aka The Bloggess), a “f***ing bitch” in a reply-all kerfuffle.

Gary Barlow joins Twitter live on X Factor and gains almost 300,000 followers

‘The X Factor’ audience might have fallen slightly last night, after it peaked at 13.5 million, as we said goodbye to Jonjo Kerr, Amelia Lily, 2 Shoes and James Michael (goodbye!), but we also said hello to Gary Barlow on Twitter.

He tweeted live on air last night and tens of thousands flocked to follow his account. Less than an hour later he had more than 100,000 fans and by the time you read this he probably has more than 300,000. He had 290,000 at the time of writing. Read More »

Social media ad revenues to reach $10 billion by 2013

Worldwide social network advertising revenues will reach $5.54bn this year, according to eMarketer with just under half of that amount or $2.74bn coming from the US.

Bmibaby and Instagram reward users with a free flight

Low-cost airline bmibaby is to reward users of the photo-sharing social network Instagram with a free flight to a European city.
