In wake of tragic fire London Fire Brigade urges Facebook users to ‘Save a Life’

In the early hours of Saturday 24 September a woman and five of her children lost their lives in the most serious house fire in London in over a decade. Following the fire there has been heightened interest from the public about how to prevent fires and stay safe in the home.

In light of that incident the London Fire Brigade today launches a Facebook campaign, Share it, Save a Life where it will post fire safety tips on its Facebook page every day for a week. Read More »

There has been a lot of talk recently about how some brands are disappointed with their level of engagement with users on Facebook. Apparently the number of people ‘liking’ brands seems to be on the wane and those that do like brands seem to have little interest in interacting with them. Labour launches social media campaign to protect rights of workers in the countryside

Labour has launched a campaign on Twitter to protect the rights of farm workers ahead of government’s plan to abolish the Agricultural Wages Board, which sets the minimum wage for farm and agricultural workers.

The campaign ‘#BacktheApple’ is spearheaded by an animated YouTube video, created by producer David Puttnam and voiced by Tony Robinson, that highlights the plight of fruit pickers in the UK who could see their wages, already low, fall if the AWB is abolished. Read More »
