Apple will launch iPhone 5 in October
AllthingsD reports that rumours Apple will launch the new version of its iPhone, the iPhone 5 in October, and not September as is being widely reported.
The September rumour sparked a wave of blog posts and seemed to be largely based on what an AT&T employee had said regarding holidays being cancelled for the last two weeks of September due to an “event blackout”.
“I’m an att employee and my boss just announced that vacation requests for the end of september will be denied due to an ‘event blackout. Historically the only time they’ve done this was for an iphone release. So we’re looking at the last two weeks of september”, Gizmodo reported.
Apparently the only time this has happened before was when an iPhone was released. Yes, folks that’s right Apple can cancelled your holidays.
The new iPhone 5 will be lighter, slimmer and faster than its predecessor and will also feature a higher resolution eight-megapixel rear camera.
Other reports have also claimed that it might also have a larger display. The Wall Street Journal said it would contain a new wireless chipsets manufactured by Qualcomm, which may make a single iPhone 5 handset compatible with GSM and CDMA networks around the world.
