Stephen Fry gives his take on Google+ – “exhausting” as Facebook plans “awesome” launch
Stephen Fry who as we all know likes to tweet a bit, from lifts and elsewhere, and share his views with his 2.7 million Twitter chums, has tweeted his take on Google +, which most of us have had a play with now and the verdict is he is not a fan.
Here’s what he tweeted a little while ago: “The mere thought of grappling with Google+ has exhausted me. Reminds me why I can’t bear Facebook. Seems for good or ill it’s twitter 4 me”.
He has a point (even if he does occasionally come out and say he is quitting Twitter).
Having played for a little yesterday, while I admit like circles and the intuitive nature of it, I can’t get over the fact parts it look and act exactly like Facebook. That is slightly exhausting as I am struggling to see why I (or anyone) wants to go through the whole process again when the differential is so slight.
Next week we are told by Mark Zuckerberg that Facebook is going To “launch something awesome”. Facebook+ anyone?
“He said the project had been developed at the 40-person Seattle office, Facebook’s only major engineering center outside of its Palo Alto, California headquarters.
“There has been speculation in technology blogs in recent weeks about various mobile products in development at Facebook, including the release of a long-awaited Facebook app for Apple Inc’s iPad and a specialized app for photo-sharing on the iPhone,” Reuters reports.
