Groupon explains why Google wants to buy it

Red hot US deals site Groupon, which trades as MyCityDeal in the UK, has been telling the Telegraph why the likes of Google and Yahoo! could end up paying as much as $5bn to acquire it.

Spotify looks set for a big 2011 – as 2010 revenues hit £85m

Spotify founders: Daniel Ek and Martin LorentzonInteresting post on Gigaom which has done some calculations over how well the London-based Spotify is doing in light of the heavily reported 2009 losses that were out earlier this week.

The analysis suggests that Spotify has done very well indeed in 2010 generating £85m ($134m) in revenues, which are likely to significantly rise as it enters the US and more mobile carriers offer its music streaming service, and as subscriber numbers soar. Read More »
