Taking a nostalgia ride on a Timecarpet

This is quite cool. I’m having a moment of nostalgia. I’d love to get sent one of these printed cards from someone for my birthday. Timecarpet.com has basically snapped up the rights to a bunch of comics and magazine covers (not to mention Haynes Manuals for the boys) that you can send as cards.

News of the World lose 38% of visitors in first two weeks behind paywall

Beehive City is reporting that The News of the World, now bricked up behind its anti-social media paywall,  has witnessed a 38.5% drop in monthly unique visitors to its website between September and October 2010 based on comScore figures.

The News of the World paywall only went live  in mid-October so that is a particularly sharp drop as it includes half of the month when the site was still free to access. Read More »

How much is a ‘like’ on Facebook worth? About 25p

It seems that the travel agent Travel Republic is setting the value at around 25p per thumbs-up, given that it has promised to donate £25,000 to Children In Need if it manages to get 100,000 fans on its Facebook page by Friday.

Apple’s big announcement? It’s the Beatles on iTunes

UPDATE 1500 - Well there you go its official. The Beatles are on iTunes. The band’s 13 albums are yours to download or a sprinkling as, I’m sure many will do, of Beatles singles.

Ringo Starr kind of sums it up when he says he’s “particularly glad to no longer be asked when the Beatles are coming to iTunes”.  Read More »
