Twitter CEO says it is about to start taking millions in ad revenue [Video]
Ad Age has this interview with Twitter’s Dick Costolo, just elevated last week from COO to CEO, who is talking about the firm’s monetization plans.
He says Twitter, which last week added another prong to those monetization efforts with “Promoted Accounts” and revealed it was selling Promoted Tweets for upwards of $100k, is about to start booking millions of dollars in ad revenue.
It’s interesting as it shows you where Twitter is and how it is fast changing from a company that was just getting it together to one that is growing up and focusing on the business of making money in order to justify that billion dollar valuation.
