Starbucks leads as 30 plus brands score million plus Facebook fans

With the speed at which the Facebook Like Button is spreading around the web the 34 brands who can already boast in excess of one million fans will shortly be joined by a number of others, but catching Starbucks with its 7.2 million fans will take some doing.
Okay, so Starbucks is not number one that’s Facebook itself with its nine million, but it is an incredible achievement for the coffee chain to rack up 7,217,682 fans. That gives Starbucks such a powerful foothold in social media.
Last month it was estimated that those seven million plus fans could be worth in excess of $24m after a research firm put a value of $3.60 on a social media fan.
At number three Coca-Cola is almost two million behind it (on 5,529,726 Fans).
Nokia, Hard Rock Cafe, Dairy Queen, Ray-Ban and Ferrari and Chanel are all closing in on the one million mark with a raft of others not far behind.
Last month it was reported that more than 50,000 websites had already adopted the Facebook Like button. That figure is thought to have shot up in the three weeks since that report came out.
