NYTimes readies paid iPad app but mum on paywall

The New York Times continues to offer scant details regarding its  “metered model” paywall, but has said a paid for Apple iPad app is on the way, which is due to debut in January when it is also expected the paper will launch its paid content plans.

During Q1 earnings call this week, CEO Janet Robinson said the company is looking into how and what content will be metered, and how the paywall will interact with search engines. Read More »

Twitter generates almost one in ten social media visits

Interesting numbers from web analytics firm StatCounter ranking the social web saying that while Facebook leads the way in social media as the primary source of traffic to global websites Twitter is now third after StumbleUpon

The StatCounter report said that Facebook generates 48% of social media traffic followed by StumbleUpon with almost 25% and Twitter with around 20%. Read More »
