“Fank you, fank you!” Nick Clegg might say. If he was a feline. In the midst of all the negativity and mud flinging in the political press, there’s a small community of people satirising the general election with a basic Photoshop skills and deliberately misspelled captions (maybe that should be ‘capshunzz?’).

LOLCleggz is inspired by the hugely popular LOLCats website I Can Haz Cheezburger? where people submit photos of their cats doing silly things along with captions that make you cring. LOLCleggz appears to have popped up overnight.

The general election has seen smears against all three parties over the past month targeting each of the political leaders, yet Clegg’s come out farely unscathed in each case, even with his less popular policies.

Click through to MyDavidCameron.com for a little opposition satire and you’ll see that Clegg gets off quite lightly in comparison.

When the internet community has a chance to have a go, the results are often very funny. Remember #NickCleggsFault last week?

After trending worldwide as twitterers blamed Clegg for everything from stealing the Holy Grail to being the person on the grassy knoll, he certainly wont!

It remains unclear as to whether LOLCleggz will continue to be updated, or how popular it will be, but as it made the Metro this morning I hope it’ll be one to watch.

Of course, there are many other varieties out there including one that has Clegg in a galaxy far far away. Clegg looked like he might have been the farm boy type before leading the “rebellion”.

If after that you still need to see some more spoofs or general defacing of the work of professionals there is always the Facebook group “Vandalised Conservative Billboards”.

It has over 1,400 images uploaded and some of them are very funny sadly the best ones are too rude to publish here.
